(More customer reviews)This version of Megatron is adapted from the fun comic story, Transformers: The War Within. The 6" line has several figures based on that story line. These versions can only be found in the 6" titanium line and generally they're geared as affordable display pieces with diecast to pump up the display value; more then generally cheaper and all plastic play transformers to give to the kids. The "alt" mode, as with most of the titanium figures, is pretty decent and is really there to support the more excellent 'bot mode. Check out the comic story in trade paperback here at Amazon and pick up some other sweet War Within titanium: Fallen (smokin' hot), War Within Optimus Prime, Sunstorm. If you like TF and diecast, these are heaven.

The War Within Megatron will include a Decepticon insignia display platform. This version of Megatron is a hulking, mobile battle station, substantially more impressive than Megatronâ?TMs eventual Walther mode. In robot mode, rabid gun enthusiast Megatron is equipped with a back-mounted cannon, a shoulder-mounted cannon, and a forearm-mounted cannon. In vehicle mode, a segmented-tread tank, the monstrous cannon arsenal bristles forward to rain Hell and Primus on the Autobot forces. The War Within series explores the character of Megatron during the nascent days of his ravening complex. Initially, he has destroyed Sentinel Prime, and is shown brazenly displaying Sentinelâ?TMs severed head. The Autobots are somewhat dissembled and largely disillusioned, with Grimlock serving as a commander over one large faction. Megatron feels nothing but contempt where his enemies are concerned---and almost cheated of glory by the apparent lack of resistance.
