Soundwave is one of the greatest characters the Decepticons had and now with this toy you can add a very poseable, articulate, and detailed figure to add to your collection. My only grief with this toy is that the laserbeak that comes with it does not resemble the G1 version and also I wish it would have been a little taller than 6 inches. I would have gladly paid an extra $10 bucks for a 10 inch version.

Soundwave is made of both plastic and die-cast and features a Decepticon emblem nameplate base. Modeled after the Gen 1 version, Soundwave transforms into an evil cassette player---more to the point, Soundwave is partnered with the transformable cassette warrior Lazerbeak. In robot mode, Soundwave is highly similar to his Gen 1 incarnation, particularly in regards to the shape of his helmet and faceplate. Additionally, heâ?TMs armed with his shoulder-mounted canon and concussion blaster gun. Since Soundwave remains in spy mode 100% of the time, his only real friends are his cassette warriors. Overtly servile, emotionless, Soundwave is logic-driven with ambitious undercurrents. He monitors and records everything, even to the extent that he interprets brain waves, which makes him unpopular among his Decepticon cohorts. Despite his loyalty to Megatron, in Transformers: The Movie, once Megatron was out of the picture, Soundwave promptly volunteered to shoulder the burden of new leadership.
